The 24th floor

This project is an editor's pick on Lens Culture ("Interior" pages)

I decided to create the "the 24th floor" project to show what is the hidden face, of a big company, struggling with crisis. This documentary was made in one of the biggest telecom company in Paris, France. It was a wealthy and growing company, ready to spend a lot for its employees. As a symbol of its good health, the company moved to one of the biggest tower in Paris few years ago. Everything was then just fine... But after one year there, a competitor entered the market, the economical crisis was stronger, and things changed quite fast. Money could not longer be spent that way, the company had to fire people, and some stairs stayed abandoned. An hard change for a company always used to grow, and for its employees. Those pictures were taken in an abandoned floor of the 24 stairs of the tower. Because of the economic crisis, I wanted to show the awkward of the situation, those large open spaces, usually pack of people, are now just empty. But traces of life and activity were still there, as a souvenir of another period of time....
